This sums up my stage of life as I want you to know me more than just a community nurse. This is car seats, humane society donations of the abundance of blankets we own, listening to music that brings me joy, and of course - the Blue Jays.

About Emma

I'm Emma, a Registered Practical Nurse serving Durham Region, and the nurse behind Prana Rising Foot Care.

My path here wasn't a straight line — I studied Psychology and Biology before training as a nurse, and that combination shapes how I practice today: I care for the whole person, not just the feet in front of me. I pride myself on dignity-first care.

I specialize in clinical foot care for people managing diabetes, MS, neuropathy, mobility challenges, fibromyalgia, and other conditions where foot health has real stakes and medication management for anyone juggling multiple prescriptions. Every visit includes a genuine clinical assessment, not just a service: I'm checking circulation, skin integrity, and sensation, and more, so if something's changing, we catch it early.

I come to you. Home visits mean no waiting rooms, no rushing, and care that fits into your life instead of the other way around. Many of my clients are managing complex health needs, aging in place, or simply want a nurse they can trust.

Outside of client visits, I write and speak about mental health, caregiving, and the realities of navigating care systems. But my door is open first and foremost for clinical foot care and medication support, delivered by someone who takes it seriously and treats you like a person, not a chart or a number.Based in Durham Region.
